As an educational researcher, my research centers around the narrative experiences of international students in South Korea, practices of translanguaging inside and outside of the EFL classroom, and issues pertaining to the intersection of language and identity. My current research focuses on how both international students and Korean students navigate identity shifts to (re)construct their self-identities through study abroad experiences, L2 learning, and investment. As an educator, my goal is to not only teach the concepts pertinent to the course, but also help students grow in confidence and aspire to achieve their highest potential in the classroom and beyond.
